Biomedical Device Integration
Anthelio's Biomedical Device Integration provides multiple benefits to the clinical care team:
- Patient data received in shorter cycle times allows clinicians to make decisions without delay
- Cycle times reduced from 12 hours prior to biomedical device integration to 2 hours post biomedical device integration
- Greater accuracy and precision with Positive Patient ID and data direct from the device
- Removes transcription errors by the clinical staff and removes administrative burden of abstracting data from devices
- Streamlined data handling gives staff more time to meet the primary goal of patient care
- ICU calls reduced by 50%
- Increased integrity, efficiency, quality, and ROI by leveraging Biomedical Devices
The Anthelio Medical Integration Team validates and documents the capabilities of clinician's medical device inventory to produce patient generated clinical data. The interdisciplinary team of clinicians and technical experts works closely with clinicians to map the patient/device pairing, device data, and clinical processes involved to accurately move the data from patient device to the patient record in the EHR. This allows the clinicians to make timely and informed clinical decisions with the latest available vital signs and patient data.
Clinical data quality assessment directly supports the key elements of clinical decision making to ensure that IT systems enrich rather than impede the clinical decision making process. Biomedical Device Integration is based on supporting Anthelio's five rights of clinical decision making.
- The Right Data - Data Source of Truth is validated/verified so that Patient Data is accurate across all systems
- The Right Patient - Positive Patient ID for all Patient Data elements including medical device data
- The Right Clinician - Patient Data access is ensured for all clinicians and collaborative teams
- The Right Clinical Context - Patient Data elements reflect the patient as a whole across multiple diagnoses/conditions using a consistent, focused and integrated/aggregated data presentation
- The Right Time - Patient Data is available on time, when needed to make accurate and effective clinical decisions, as close as possible to the actual point of care.
